DuelElo

Ranked Rules v1

These rules mirror the Forever Open tournament ruleset. The DuelElo addon checks them before a duel and the site checks them again when matches are uploaded.

Consent

A duel is ranked only when both players agree before it starts (in the DuelElo prompt or with the "Always ranked" setting). Agreement locks when the challenged player accepts the duel. Nobody can turn a finished duel into a ranked one.

Same level

Both players must be the same level. Any level works (the ladder can be filtered by level, for example Level 30 for the tournament).

Readiness

Cooldowns and trinkets are checked and shown to both players and recorded with the match, but they never block a ranked duel. Players who want both sides fully ready can turn on Wait for cooldowns: they then only agree to ranked once both players' trinkets and cooldowns of a minute or longer are ready.

Fair pairings

Repeat duels against the same opponent count less: the second ranked duel within 7 days counts half, the third a quarter, and further ones don't count. Your own characters can't play ranked against each other.

Sanctions

  1. No action, when a report doesn't hold up.
  2. Warning, shown on your own profile with the evidence.
  3. Void: the affected matches stop counting and ratings are recalculated.
  4. Season ban: excluded from the ladder for the season.
  5. Permanent ban: needs two moderators to agree.

Reports go to a jury of experienced players and then to a moderator. Every decision can be appealed once, to a different moderator.
